This feature allows schools to select detentions of a different type, automatically removing a learner from an existing detention if it clashes. This is particularly useful for schools that are looking to escalate detentions if a student receives more than one in a day.
To enable this feature, go to the behaviour tab in the administration settings and select the ‘enable detention clash reallocation’ setting.

In the example below, this student is already assigned to a 30-minute detention. This teacher has added a new behaviour and is selecting a detention. A warning appears highlighting the clash. The teacher can select a new 30-minute detention for a different day, or a detention of a different type, e.g. a 60-minute detention, since the teacher knows this is the second detention for this day.

This automatically updates, removing the learner from the previous detention and assigning them to the ‘upgraded one’ or new one.
Students assigned a detention can be viewed in the register. If you click on the student’s name, you can see the details of the detention they are assigned to. This allows the teacher to add a new detention and choose the correct detention type when adding a behaviour.

This feature is applicable in the Behaviour, Registers, Detentions and Homework functionality.
