The Edulink Agent cannot validate our address because the proxy could not be resolved. What do I do?

If the Edulink One Agent is flagging an address validation error due to the proxy settings, it means Edulink One doesn’t know the IP the MIS is using.

To fix this error you need to go to the system tray, locate your Edulink Agent cog and click on it.

Edulink One Agent Cog

Click on the MIS Connection to view the state.

MIS Connection

The state should usually read OK, but if you see ‘Address Validation Service: The proxy name could not be resolved’, you need to change your settings. To do this, click ‘Change Settings‘ at the bottom of the window.

Address Validation Service: The proxy name could not be resolved error

In ‘Change Settings’ you will see information about your MIS and any proxies you may have in place. Select the ‘Service Connection Method’ to change the settings.

Change Settings

You can select three settings in ‘Service Connection Method’: get settings from SIMS (usually the default method), use a local proxy (you must enter the proxy details), or connect directly. Connect directly allows you to connect directly to the internet without a proxy. Select connect directly to bypass the proxy server.

Service Connection Method

Apply the settings to change your service connection method.

After a few minutes, you should see the connection reestablished with the Agent directly connecting to the Internet.
